Bridge bit Model Testing Competition at IIT Bombay

Students of BE III Year Civil Engineering Department, Acropolis Institute of Technology and Research Indore had participated in“Aakaar 2018” annual technical festival of Department of Civil Engineering, IT Bombay on Saturday March 17th, 2018 and Sunday March 18th, 2018.Aakaar has been working as a great platform for the students across the Country to showcase and enhance their skills at the highest level since its inception in 2009. Aakaar is now the largest civil engineering festival in the country. There are many competitions held in Aakaar such as Civil Engineering Symposium, Bridge It, Conquer It, and civil engineering national exhibition, Smart Pitch which let the students compete and enhance their practical knowledge. In all there were 250 teams who have participated throughout the country in the competition and only 15 teams of them had been selected for the Final Round. Ours Acropolis Civil Engineering Student Team had been firstly selected in the Finale Round and afterwards they scored 11th position in the competition. Participating in the event helped students introducing them to the wide variety of career opportunities as design engineer available in the field of engineering. Also they would be able to learn and understand a part of practical aspect of the subject “Bridge Design”. With the prior permission, guidance and hard efforts of Dr. S K Sohani, Head of Civil Engineering Department and well guidance as well as assistance by Mr. Jayant Awasthy, CED AITR Indore. Students have participated successfully in the event with great zeal.
