Technical Skills Development Cell Organised Cloud Computing Workshop
TSDC organized Cloud Computing Workshop for Acropolis Institute of Technology & Research (AITR) final year students (BE [CSE], BE [IT], and MCA) from 21st JUL 2014 to 31st JUL 2014, this workshop was conducted by Industry experts (02 nos.) from Technophilia Systems (http://www.technophilia.co.in), Mumbai, India in association with Robotics and Computer Applications Institute of USA.
Cloud Computing is a latest buzzword, it provides means by which one can access the applications as utilities, over the internet. It allows creating, configuring, and customizing the business applications online. Basically, term Cloud refers to a Network or Internet. In other words, we can say that Cloud is something, which is present at remote location. Cloud can provide services over network, i.e., on public networks or on private networks, i.e., WAN, LAN or VPN. Applications such as e-mail, web conferencing, customer relationship management (CRM), all run in cloud
The objective of workshop was to introduce our students to Cloud Computing; the workshop covered topic on introduction, installation, configuration and consumption of services over the cloud. Students were given first-hand hands-on experience with setup in lab and over the internet for cloud computing.
Overall 200 (in 04 batches of 50 each) students participated in the workshop. After successful completion of the workshop students were awarded certificates by Technophilia Systems. Top students from the workshop will be eligible to compete (through online test) for IIT, Bombay and subsequently for technical event at California, USA.
This workshop was successfully co-coordinated by Prof. Nitin Kulkarni (Asst. Professor – FCA & Coordinator-TSDC, AITR).
