Expert Lecture

Expert lecture by Dr Neelima Satyam, Associate Professor, IIT Indore was organised for BE CE-IV Year students on Wednesday, 12^th Sept 2018 on the topic “Seismic Structural Modelling and Philosophy of Structural Design with views on IS 1893”. The main aim of the expert lecture was to offer a platform for the students to get exposure to the new topics of the subject. The topics were in relevance to the curriculum as per the RGPV syllabus. Case study covering the seismic hazards and modelling of earthquake resistant design of structures was discussed. It was an interactive session and the students gained from this session. The concepts of seismic structural modeling, base isolation, concepts of earthquake and its terminology was explained in a very simple way to the students. The students were also motivated to work in few projects at IIT Indore as Interns.
