Faculty Development Program Organized by IPPC, Acropolis In association with NEN & CII
Indore, July 08, 2013: In an attempt to promote innovation and create high growth opportunities in India, Acropolis Institute along with National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) & Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) conducted a day-long workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) at Indore in the campus. The aim of this workshop was to create awareness on IPR among budding entrepreneurs and enhance intellectual capital for economic development in the State.
The workshop saw total participation of 41 people from Engineering & management Colleges of Indore, Bhopal, Mandsaur and as well as Startup entrepreneurs. Trinity Nagpal, Executive – Intellectual Property, CII threw light on topics such as innovation, patent search, patent mapping, patent drafting, IP Management Primer and others during the workshop. This was the first of its kind workshop attempt in developing and promoting the culture for IP in promoting innovation & creativity in academia in India.
“Both CII-IPFC and NEN are staunch believers in promoting innovation in India and committed to help create high growth business with focus on facilitation, awareness and training, IP information services and counselling and advisory services,” said by Shweta Sharma Joshi, Zonal Head, CII, Malwa Region.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms.Sunita Singh, Sr. Director and Co-founder, National Entrepreneurship Network, said, “The growth of innovation helps to propagate development and success of business. Entrepreneurs, as drivers of small businesses, are the innovators of the economy. The importance of innovation in entrepreneurship can be seen in the invention of new ways to produce products or create improved solutions. India is in a stage where youngsters are trying to set up their own ventures and tread their own path. It’s important that innovation becomes the focus area for long term growth and sustainability of the business.”

IPPC Acropolis Indore will focus on Innovators, Academia and communities, in an integrated manner, which is vital for the technical institutes & State both in terms of Industrial growth & overall Socio Economic development. It is a single window for capturing new developments across the institutes & region and assisting them for filing for intellectual property with CII IPFC.
IPPC Acropolis Indore will render almost all kinds of IPR assistance & preliminary services – like Patents, Copyrights, Designs, Geographical Indications etc. It conducts a number of workshops and programmes to boost IP awareness among academic & startup ecosystem in the region.
