Job Description

After-school Child Care Associates looks after children ages 3 to 10. The primary responsibility is to keep the children happy, busy, and safe in a nurturing, Christian environment. Successful individual enjoys working with young children and is enthusiastic, creative, efficient, and responsible.

The work schedule is tied to the school calendar, usually 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on school days. Some full days are required for coverage on "no school days." Summer childcare work hours may vary.

Duties:

• Assist in planning and supervising activities that promote the social, mental, physical, emotional, and educational development of the children.
• Is able to effectively use the attendance and communication system.
• Clean the childcare room for the purpose of maintaining a safe, orderly, and sanitary environment.
• Reports to the child care director.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Child care experience preferred.
• Must possess valid CPR and First Aid certifications or be willing to possess.
• Ability to pass a background check.

ADA Physical Requirements:

• The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
• The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; use hands; reach with hands and arms.
• Close vision is required for paperwork and the computer.
• Able to utilize computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone.
• This role is in a classroom-type environment, which may require the employee to bend and lift 40 pounds.
