Job Description

Rincon Consultants, Inc. is seeking a **Cultural Resources Project Manager** possessing cultural resources management experience and specialized in California Archaeology to join our team of professionals working on a variety of projects including Transportation, Utilities, Renewable Energy, Community Development, and Water projects. The role entails leading small to moderate-sized projects while assisting senior project managers with large, complex projects and assignments. Duties include successfully managing and completing project deliverables and work products, leading fieldwork, people management, and client coordination and management. Qualities of the ideal candidate include: strong leadership capabilities, technical and regulatory knowledge and experience, the ability to both collaborate as part of a team and work independently, attention to detail, excellent time management capabilities, strong communication skills, and an ability to apply feedback and expand ones skill set. While this role may offer flexible work arrangements that can include a mix of in-office and remote work, our changing business needs will ultimately determine our level of remote-work flexibility. Additionally, to promote in-person collaboration and client teaming, we prioritize hiring those who reside within 50 miles of a Rincon office which currently includes: Carlsbad, Fresno, Los Angeles, Monterey, Oakland, Palm Springs, Riverside, Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, San Diego, San Jose, Santa Barbara, and Ventura. Candidates located in the San Joaquin Valley, ideally in the Fresno area, preferred. This is a minimum 40 hour per week position and some 40+ weeks may be necessary based on project needs.  **Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:** + Facilitate successful project completion of multiple projects with varied regulatory requirements including Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and National Environmental Policy Act + Manage projects, client expectations, schedules, and budgets + Supervise and direct staff to ensure optimal productivity, foster mentorship, training and employee recognition + Prepare high-quality reports and report contributions, environmental document sections, correspondences, and other written work products + Lead field projects including survey, testing, and data recovery projects, and, in coordination with Principals/Directors, provide technical oversight of methods and data collection + Oversee and complete work products and fieldwork in a timely and efficient manner and ensuring quality of work products + Coordinate and lead project meetings + Coordinate with Directors/Principals in leading client, agency, stakeholder community including local Native American groups, Rincon peer, subcontractor, and vendor interactions + Work in multidisciplinary teams for successful project execution including planners, biologists, paleontologists, and others + Prepare and/or contribute to project proposals, including development of costs and schedules + Participate in business development activities + Participate in Rincon's mentorship program including providing mentorship of junior staff and engaging in peer-to-peer mentorship and engagement with senior mentors **This Job Might Be for You If You Have the Following:** + Meet or exceed the qualifications detailed in 36 CFR part 61 for Archeology + Minimum of 6+ years of progressive and successful environmental consulting experience in the above-mentioned technical and project management areas + Register of Professional Archaeologists (RPA) certification + Expertise in historical and prehistoric archaeology + A thorough understanding of CEQA and NEPA as they relate to cultural resources and related fields, and Section 106 of the NHPA + Strong technical writing, field methods, and problem-solving skills + Strong work ethic, demonstrated leadership ability, effective communication skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and staff + Prior experience working in California and the Great Basin **Desired: ** + Osteology and/or faunal analysis experience + Geoarchaeological assessment experience + Lab management experience + Experience/working relationships with local Native American groups + Experience with renewables and transportation projects + Experience coordinating/interacting with environmental planners and other non-cultural resources experts + Working knowledge of historic built environment resources ​​​​Rincon Consultants, Inc. is an award-winning leader in providing quality environmental consulting services throughout California and is recognized as a 'Best Environmental Services Firm to Work For' by the Zweig Group. We partner with clients in sectors such as transportation, energy and infrastructure, sustainability, climate change, oil and gas, water, commercial, private development, and government. The base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000- $135,000, plus a generous benefits program.
