About the Company

We are seeking a seasoned District Maintenance Manager to lead fleet operations and technician teams across one or more service locations. In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure all vehicle maintenance and repairs meet safety, efficiency, and compliance standards. This is a leadership position focused on optimizing shop operations, managing personnel, and keeping our fleet of diesel and alternative fuel vehicles running at peak performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and supervise technicians, lead techs, and maintenance supervisors.
  • Plan and schedule repair work to reduce downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee facility and fleet repairs (trucks, containers, and heavy-duty equipment).
  • Conduct quality control inspections and root cause analyses for road calls and breakdowns.
  • Monitor department budgets, forecasts, and operational KPIs.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and repair facilities.
  • Maintain eMaintenance records and ensure data accuracy.
  • Foster a safe, accountable, and team-oriented shop culture.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Maintenance Manager or Supervisor role.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA compliance, and fleet maintenance best practices.
  • Advanced understanding of diesel engines, HVAC, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management software. Strong communication and customer service orientation.

Preferred Skills

  • ASE Certifications (T2–T8).
  • Diesel Technical Institute graduate.
  • Prior experience in the waste/environmental services industry.
