Estimator

Location : Queens, NY

About the Company

National General Contractor and Construction Management firm with over 50 years of proven experience in the commercial construction industry.

Diverse portfolio of projects including Healthcare, Mission Critical and Commercial Offices.

The company is privately owned and holds several strong relationships with both private and public sector clients. They are looking now to add an experienced Estimator to their Queens office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and aviation construction projects, including quantity take-offs, labor, materials, and subcontractor pricing
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate and competitive bids
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure alignment between estimates and actual project conditions
• Solicit, review, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and coverage
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market pricing, construction means and methods, and industry trends
• Participate in value engineering exercises and scope clarifications to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Assist in project handoff to operations and provide continued estimating support as needed throughout pre-construction

Experience Required:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Estimator in the commercial construction industry
• Prior experience working for a General Contractor or Construction Manager required
• Strong proficiency in Bluebeam, Procore, On-Screen Takeoff, or related estimating software
• Experience estimating aviation projects or other technically complex scopes is a plus
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, scope review, and bid-leveling
• Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail

Salary Range : Up to $150,000 per year
