Job Description

Job Title: Administrative Support Specialist – Healthcare

Pay Rate: $24/hour

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Duration: 2-month contract with potential for extension

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Administrative Support Specialist to join our healthcare team. This role has been repurposed to focus primarily on administrative responsibilities , with an emphasis on insurance verification and healthcare data accuracy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the healthcare industry, deep familiarity with PHI and HIPAA compliance, and exceptional attention to detail in handling patient information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Insurance Verification: Accurately verify and interpret insurance benefits; upload and maintain patient estimates for proper billing.
  • Order Entry & Data Accuracy: Enter patient orders, verify patient names and demographics, and ensure all data aligns with compliance standards.
  • Inbound/Outbound Calls: Handle patient inquiries via phone with professionalism and clarity.
  • Caseload Management: Support the creation and tracking of patient caseloads for timely and organized processing.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, complete, and current patient documentation in accordance with healthcare standards.
  • Financial Assistance Processing: Collect and manage necessary documentation to support financial assistance applications.
  • Administrative Support: Perform general clerical duties including filing, scanning, and record maintenance.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster positive working relationships across departments and contribute to team goals.
  • Emotional Intelligence: Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and effective communication in all interactions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in healthcare administration
  • Expertise in insurance verification and understanding of PHI/HIPAA guidelines
  • Experience with order entry and demographic verification
  • Exposure to Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite a plus
  • Familiarity with scanning systems preferred
