Collaborating with a hospital in southern Massachusetts that has an opportunity for an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant to provide locum coverage.
Opportunity Details:
Schedule: 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 7a-5p, or 5p-3a
No call required
Setting: Emergency department with fast track
Annual Volume: 55,000 patients
40% of patients treated by APPs in fast track
Admission Rate: 15%
Will respond to house codes
Will be working autonomously
Support Staff: MDs, APPs, extensive subspecialty support
EMR: Epic
Board certification required

Board Certified
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
Active unencumbered Physician Assistant Massachusetts state license
Graduate from a fully accredited Physician Assistant program
One year of work experience as a Physician Assistant in Emergency Medicine
One year of EMR experience

Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
