Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager II in the Consultant Services Unit, the employee performs entry-level analytical duties. The successful candidate must use good judgment, maintain regular and punctual attendance for consistency of services, possess strong analytical, writing, and organizational skills, perform completed staff work when executing all assigned duties, effectively communicate with all levels within and outside the organization, and perform a variety of consultative and analytical duties. The successful candidate must adhere to ethical practices and policies, ensure best value for the State, and demonstrate a positive attitude and a commitment to providing quality service that is accurate, timely, and exceeds customers’ expectations. Duties include but not limited to: Assist in administering the Division’s hiring processes, including: receiving applications, scheduling interviews, and organizing interview panels. Prepare PARF packages to initiate hires, reclassifications, and new positions. Assist in the processing of invoices and in the review, evaluation, and verification of supporting documentation for A&E invoices; prepare receiving records and submit invoices to accounting for payment in a timely manner. Assists in the analysis and assessment of invoices and cost proposals and in the review of Task Orders to ensure compliance with Contract and Stale requirements. Develop database and monitoring sheets to track mandatory trainings and personnel hiring status and provide an updated monthly report to management.

Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment. This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs.
