Purpose of Position

The Scrum Master will be a leader who will facilitate and coach teams. The Scrum Master plays a key role in helping scrum teams and the broader organization understand the scrum theory and how to apply Lean principles that will enable the team to become more collaborative and effective. The Scrum Master will coach the team by guiding them through their work by skillfully removing obstacles and distractions that may impede the team from meeting goals. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of managing agile teams, who possess expertise in the Scrum framework(s) and who demonstrates servant leadership qualities.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Perform as a Coach to ensure the teams are self-managed and manage the work dependencies across teams
• Facilitate work through the team and across teams. Conducts Scrum events, provide capacity allocation, facilitate work item management for flow of value delivery and produce metrics.
• Actively understands and manages the Organization model and capacity plan for all members of the team. Is capable of mapping team velocity back to capacity and sprint plans. Partner with the Project Manager to communicate team capacity allocations and highlight any deviations.
• Leads the team through the SDLC process, partners with Business Analyst for work intake and having a healthy team backlog. The Scrum Master is primarily accountable for upholding standards for the use of Azure DevOps.
• Drives work item management and ensures the backlog is refined, work items are defined and maintained with proper estimation/story points and in alignment with Azure DevOps enterprise standards for work items.
• Facilitates scrum events: Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Retrospectives, Daily Standup and Demos.
• Provide overall metrics to management and Senior Leadership
• Collaborates with project teams, Business Relationship Managers, Senior Leadership and the PMO
• Proactively drive and support the Scrum Teams to become more productive and efficient
• Provide technical practices guidance as required, such as TDD and BDD

Minimum Education

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience
• Certified Scrum Master with 5+ experience leading Agile Teams

Minimum Experience

• 10+ years of professional experience as a Scrum Master or Leader in Software Development working with Agile Teams. 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Deep understanding of the core principles of the scrum method 
• Strong project management skills (experience with budget allocation, scope analysis and feasibility)
• Technical skills understanding the concepts for software design, development, and process integration
• Strong ability to Lead Teams across multiple domains
• Proven ability to facilitate, mentor, teach and coach in Agile environments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Tools—Azure DevOps
• Strong ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
• Excellent organizational skills, including ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and prioritize workload.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Proven ability to drive improvement through teams
• Strong planning and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
• Highly developed attention to detail
• Solid understanding of software development life cycle models
• Demonstrates strong leadership and can provide mentorship to the Team

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and communicate. The employee may be required to stand, walk, and sit.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to view monitors, technical documents, and reference material.
