Job Description

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Superintendent to lead ground-up grocery store construction projects in the Dallas, Texas area. This role requires a results-driven professional with a solid background in commercial construction, particularly in grocery or retail developments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As the on-site leader, the Superintendent will manage the full lifecycle of construction operations, from mobilization through final delivery.
  • Responsibilities include coordinating subcontractors, managing day-to-day site activity, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining rigorous quality control.
  • The role also involves developing and updating project schedules, anticipating potential delays, and working closely with the project team to maintain progress and alignment with construction goals.
  • A key component of the role involves working closely with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that labor, materials, and equipment are available as needed.
  • The Superintendent must also be able to resolve conflicts on-site and maintain strong lines of communication with all project stakeholders.
  • Budget oversight is essential, with a focus on efficient resource management and cost control to prevent overruns.
  • The position requires maintaining thorough documentation of project activities, including daily reports, progress tracking, and safety records.
  • Strong coordination with the project management team is expected to ensure seamless communication and alignment with project milestones.

Qualifications:

  • 5–7 years of experience as a Superintendent in ground-up commercial construction.
  • Experience with grocery or retail projects preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale projects ($5M–$25M).
  • Familiarity with local building codes, safety standards, and quality control practices.
  • Proficiency with construction software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
