Job Title: Contract Driver for Mobile Cart Transport (Company Vehicle Provided) 

Location: King David Tacos, Prospect Heights, Brooklyn (611 Bergen St near Vanderbilt Ave)
Reports To: Senior Logistics & Catering Manager, Senior Operations Team
Department: Operations
FSLA Status: Independent Contractor (1099)

Compensation: 

• $40 per route (~1 hour) + free breakfast tacos & coffee ($15 value)

Schedule Expectations:

Minimum commitment: 2 shifts per week

AM Route (Pickup & Drop-Off):

• 5:30 AM | 7 Days a Week
• Pick up vehicle and food cart from HQ at Bergen St & Vanderbilt Ave
• Drop off at Grand Army Plaza

PM Route (Pickup & Return):

• 2:30 PM (Mon–Fri) | 4:00 PM (Sat–Sun)
• Pick up cart at Grand Army Plaza
• Return cart and vehicle to HQ

Job Overview:
King David Tacos is seeking reliable, punctual Contract Drivers to handle daily transport of our mobile food cart between our HQ on Bergen Street and Prospect Park (Grand Army Plaza). We provide the vehicle and trailer—you bring the skill and dependability. This is a quick, consistent gig perfect for someone local to Prospect Heights. Each route typically takes 1 hour or less, and pays $40 per completed shift.

• Safely attach/detach trailer and cart to/from vehicle
• Drive company vehicle with trailer attached (must be able to drive in reverse)
• Load/unload light equipment (e.g., coffee urns)
• Refill generator gas and water tanks (supplies provided at HQ)
• Maintain clear, timely communication with our team via phone/text
• Ensure on-time delivery and pickup at designated locations

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Confident operating a vehicle with trailer (including backing up in reverse)
• Able to lift up to 50–70 lbs and maneuver wheeled carts
• Excellent time management and reliability
• Must sign an independent contractor agreement 
• Must provide proof of personal insurance 
• Live in or near Prospect Heights preferred

• Standing and Walking | Extended periods spent on your feet, moving between tables, kitchen, and bar areas.
• Lifting and Carrying | Handling trays of food and drinks, lifting heavy pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Bending and Stooping | Reaching low shelves, cleaning tables, and accessing lower storage areas.
• Repetitive Motions | Continuous use of hands and arms for tasks such as serving, cooking, and cleaning.
• Temperature Extremes | Exposure to heat from cooking equipment and crowded spaces, as well as cold from refrigeration and freezer areas.
• Fast-paced Environment: Ability to work quickly and efficiently during peak times while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Multi-tasking | Juggling multiple responsibilities, such as taking orders, delivering food, clearing tables, and assisting colleagues.
• Noise Levels | Working in a noisy environment with background music, kitchen noise, and guest conversations.
